FAQ
What
is NVQ?
NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) is a
work related, competence based
qualification.
Why
should I do an NVQ?
If you have an NVQ it gives you a much
better chance to obtain a job in UK.
I
am a nurse, is it essential that I should
get an NVQ certificate to get a job?
It is not essential or a must.
But if you get an NVQ certificate, it
gives you a priority than a person who
doesn’t have this.
You might now know that it is getting
harder and harder for nurses to get a job in
UK.
Only
nurses do this NVQ?
No, NVQ can be done by anybody.
As NVQ is a vocational qualification,
you can look at it as an entry-level course
and choose to pursue any profession after
completion. In fact NVQ offers you a scope
of choosing any career you would like to
take up in UK.
What
are the qualifications to do NVQ?
If you are a nurse or any health care
worker you qualify to do NVQ-4.
If you are any degree holder you can
qualify to do NVQ-2.
What
are my chances of getting a job after the
course?
You have definitely an advantage over
others if you have the course certificate.
As this being a part time
course and that you are in UK you have the
advantage to search for jobs on your own
when you are studying. Besides this
you are also working part time so that you
have money for your basic expenses.
I
have heard that I will not be able to switch
from a student visa to a work visa when I am
in England.
Is it true?
There are specific immigration
rules, which allow switching. But in a remote unlikely situation of you not able to switch
you will need to fly to India to stamp your
visa. To
come to India after a year, see your family
and stamp the visa is not a bad proposition
at all for most people if it is required.
My
friends’ say that coming to UK not on a
work permit is dangerous, less chances.
Is it true?
You could find out from your
friends that, currently to get a job in UK
itself is very difficult.
Your idea of taking the NVQ level is
precisely that.
Yes it is true that coming to UK on a
work permit is a safer option, but you are venturing
into NVQ to
have advantages like saving time, spending
less, getting more opportunities etc.
How
much time will it take?
If you register and you have your paperwork
it takes less than a month for you to fly.
What
if I fail the course?
There is no question of failing the course
because there is no formal examination.
NVQ level is an assignment based
curriculum and you would only loose time if
you falter in your assignments.
What
do I do for my expenses during study?
Aima provides your training inside a
package, which includes a part time job as a
carer as well.
This job ensures to cover your
running expenses such as accommodation and
food during your course.
Will
this money be enough for my stay?
Definitely, this is enough for your
expenses.
You may not be able to save a lot,
but this is enough and the candidates who
are undergoing the course are happy too.
What
are the career options I have if I do the
course?
NVQ being an entry-level course you
basically can choose any career.
(You need to pursue those courses,
which you prefer to pursue, that’s all.)
For a nurse, for example, she can become a
senior carer or she can find out an
adaptation to become a registered nurse, or
she can pursue a career to become as
assessor, registered manager or internal
verifier which are very well paid jobs in
UK.
Is
IELTS a must?
Aima has set up standards for nurses and
carers in the past not compromising on the
quality.
That is the explanation for the
reputation and goodwill that Aima has got.
From Aima’s experience for a better
future for you in UK we would prefer you to
have a pass in IELTS.
For NVQ level course, we are looking
for a score of 6 and above.
There is much more chances of a
candidate to pass the embassy interview if
he/she gets 6 or more in IELTS than getting
less than 6.
What
happens to me if I get rejected in embassy?
If you are rejected from the embassy they
would give you reasons for that.
We could analyse those reasons,
correct them and re-file it. There is no specific number of how many times you can file in
the embassy.
Rather the more times you file, the
more chances you have got to pass, provided
the reasons of your rejection are corrected.
Is
there an age limit?
No, you only need to make the embassy
understand that you are going to UK to
complete the course and if you do it what
benefits it has to you.
Can
we take up IELTS in UK? Is it expensive?
Yes, you can.
It is not expensive considering UK
standard.
Do
I need a bank balance?
How will I get it?
Yes, you need.
You need to make embassy understand
that you have sufficient money for our
expenses for a year.
We can help you with your bank
balance.
